- VIN: run it free at NICB VINCheck for theft and salvage records. If the seller won't give you the VIN, that's your answer.
- Photos: reverse-search the ad photos with Google Lens. If they turn up in another city or on a dealer site, the listing is fake.
- Price: compare real prices for that year, make, model, and mileage before you reply. A price 20% or more below market is a top scam sign.
- Full history: run a complete vehicle history report (accidents, title problems, odometer records). Sponsored
